What does the BLM movement and The North Haven Mascot issue have in common?
EVERYTHING!
Here is the connection.
We have a small group of
residents, our version of The Squad. This small group of individuals is the
all-knowing, the smartest people in North Haven, and you better not disagree
with them! If you do, you will be called a racist, homophobe, xenophobe, a white supremacist, and of course a bully. If you bring logic to the conversation, they will
then claim that you are threatening them.
This
group is all sheep, following the new Progressive Democratic Party playbook as
the Democratic Party no longer exists. First, it was Occupy Wall Street, then
Black Lives Matters, then ANTIFA, and now its BIPOC which stands for Black
Indigenous People of Color. I kid you not! And of course, they are using one of
their great Progressive thinkers' Catchphrases – “Never
let a good crisis go to waste.”
They have
been motivated after watching their group going around the country attacking TV
shows like COPS, PD LIVE, Paw Patrol, movie classics like Gone With The Wind,
being offended and scared of cartoon characters like Elmer Fudd, tearing down
statues and now pressuring companies to repackaging their products lines like
Uncle Ben Rice, Aunt Jemima & Mrs. Butterworth, this is the opening they
have been waiting for to change our school mascot once again.
I have
read the 500 plus postings which show that this group is a manifestation of
progressive brainwashing that has been going on in this country for decades and
they are back once again beating a dead horse.
The fact
is the North Haven BOE cowardly “compromised” without an actual vote but they
unofficially decided on this. Here is a quote from one of the Squad members - “
it was decided not to print the logo/mascot on any school funded attire. This
is an acknowledgment of the racists overtones the mascot has.”
Really? I
don’t remember this being the official ruling from the BOE. No, it was a cowardly
way to avoid doing the right thing, so a majority of the BOE wanted this issue
to go away so they compromised with this. Quietly, the logo disappeared without
anyone noticing or saying anything. Until now.
Give them
an inch, they will take a mile. But in 2020, its Give them an inch they will
take and remake history!
What’s
next North Haven? Tearing down the cannon on the town green? Isn’t someone
offend but this monument?
